What is bitcoin?
Bitcoin (BTC) uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks; managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network.
Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part. Through many of its unique properties, Bitcoin allows exciting uses that could not be covered by any previous payment system.
It is a virtual currency that can be purchased for regular money in all countries of the world. BTC is kept in the wallet from which payments are made. Wallets can be physical in the form of a keychain, in an application on your PC or mobile phone, or held in an online wallet on the Internet.
